Higher dose estrogen better for acne?
I’m already on lower dose birth control (Yaz) for the purpose of my acne and cysts. I have actually wondered, is it not effective because the dose is too low? I’ve read that oil production from your body is caused by testosterone, so does having high estrogen levels lower oil concentration and build up in one’s face?
As far as I know, low Progesterone levels in the body (high Estrogen) is the cause so you’d have to take something to balance the two..
Consult your Doctor before taking a higher dose of your medication.
